SECond Mission: Service|Education|Careers VISTA AmeriCorps Members serve a fulltime, twelve month term of national service to build the capacity of member campuses and community-based Veteran Serving Organizations (VSOs) to support veterans’ access to and persistence in higher education and their successful transition to the civilian workforce. In exchange for their service, VISTAs receive a modest living stipend, an education award of $5,750, health benefits, and a childcare benefit (if eligible). Current partners include Adams State University, Arapahoe Community College, Casper College, Johnson & Wales University, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Mt. Carmel Center for Excellence, Naropa University, Red Rocks Community College, University of Colorado Boulder, University of Colorado Colorado Springs, University of Colorado Denver, University of Northern Colorado, and Veterans Upward Bound.
